Character Archetypes

The following are the pre-built character archetypes in the campaign.

The approved Power Sources are Cyborg, Driven, Genetic, Lifeforce, Psi, and Technology. If you wish to build your own archetype, you may only use these power sources. Note that Mandatory Powers are always in addition to an Archetype’s Permissions.

  1. Dilemmic Survivor (10 points)

    Sources:Genetics (0), Lifeforce (5)
Permissions:Peak Performer (5), Prime Specimen (5), One Inhuman Stat (+3)
Intrinsics:Mandatory Power, Allergy (Drains, Atitlán Toxin) (-8)
    Mandatory Power:
Dysergy Field 2d (D, range, Genetics & Lifeforce: Interference vs Genetic and Lifeforce Miracles (3), Endless (3), Radius (+2), Always On (-1), Slow (-2), Obvious (-1); 4 pts/d)
You are surrounded by a field that interferes with Genetic and Lifeforce attack miracles. The first time in an encounter one of these target you (and the dysergy field activates), the attack visibly scatters across your aura before fading away. It takes a few moments for your dysergy field to rebuild.
    Description:
Your body fought the effects of the Atitlán Toxin every step of the way, failing and rallying more times than the doctors could count. But where most survivors either repelled it completely, or incorporated it wholly, your body reached an equilibrium. Your skin is constantly hot to the touch (flushed, not fevered), and everything is a little more intense – colors more vivid, sounds a little louder.

Permissions: Hypertrained (5), Power Theme (5), Super (+15)
IntrinsicsAllergy (-x), Inhuman (-8), Vulnerable (-2/@), Willpower Contest (-10), All Powers Require Willpower Bid (-3)

For whatever reason, the powers of Ki Adepts and Ki Magicians have a hard time affecting you.
    Description:
Your body fought the effects of the Atitlán Toxin and won – but at a terrible cost. While your body has managed to avoid the genetic scarring common in many of the Toxin’s survivors, your immune system acheived this by attacking your own flesh, and you’ve lost significant parts of your body. Your doctors were incredibly skilled, though, and have managed to replace all of the missing flesh with mechanical equalivents.

    Ki Blast 4d (A,range: Harm, Willpower Bid (-1), No Upward Limit (+2), Obvious (-1); 2 pts/d)
It’s kind of hard to ignore a glowing ray of deadly willpower. It doesn’t make it less effective, though.
    Description:
Your body fought the effects of the Atitlán Toxin, and when the battles were over, you emerged healthy, and a real-life anime martial artist.

    Description:
Your body fought the effects of the Atitlán Toxin, and when the battles were over, you emerged healthy, with the ability to see and manipulate ki. And when you can manipulate ki, you can do just about anything.

Yes, you have a ray gun. No, it doesn’t make an earth-shattering kaboom.
    Description:
Your body fought the effects of the Atitlán Toxin and won – but at a terrible cost. You’re immune system’s battles against the toxin essentially amounted to gene therapy. Your body’s been improved, but large parts of your body where rejected by itsel. As a result, you’ve lost significant parts of your body. Your doctors were incredibly skilled, though, and have managed to replace all of the missing flesh with mechanical equalivents.

You can tell if someone’s a mutant. Maybe it’s a case of it takes one to know one. Maybe it’s something else. You still know.
    Description:
Your body fought the effects of the Atitlán Toxin and won. Your mind has cleared; things that eluded you before are child’s play now. You’re constantly learning, experimenting, and if your colleagues can’t keep up that’s their problem, not yours.
